XMCA47 is a high-resin-content bonding sealant engineered for reliable adhesion and sealing across a wide range of substrates. While it does not pursue extreme elongation figures, it delivers competitive shear and tensile strength—on par with industry benchmarks—making it more than capable for the vast majority of non-structural bonding applications.
Compatible Substrates: Bonds effectively to most common materials, including metals, wood, PVC, and a broad range of plastics.
Bond strength and elasticity address different performance requirements. XMCA47 prioritizes adhesion strength while still offering moderate flexibility—adequate for conventional joint movement. For applications involving frequent or large-amplitude movement, a low-modulus sealant is recommended.
While some competing products advertise elongation at break of 300% or even 400%, XMCA47 is designed with a nominal elongation of approximately 120% and a consistent shear strength of 2.8 MPa.
This difference reflects a deliberate design choice. For decorative bonding, profile fixing, and similar routine uses, 120% elongation comfortably accommodates typical joint movement, while 2.8 MPa shear strength ensures reliable adhesion—with substrate failure generally occurring before cohesive failure of the adhesive itself.
Prototype formulations with higher elongation were evaluated during development, but the final specification prioritizes batch-to-batch consistency and overall performance stability. For contractors and production teams, predictable, uniform product behavior is often more valuable than chasing a single peak specification.
