XMCA47 Product Overview & Application Guide – High-Resin Bonding Sealant

Product Profile

XMCA47 is a high-resin-content bonding sealant engineered for reliable adhesion and sealing across a wide range of substrates. While it does not pursue extreme elongation figures, it delivers competitive shear and tensile strength—on par with industry benchmarks—making it more than capable for the vast majority of non-structural bonding applications.

Key Features

High Initial Tack– Sets quickly with a tack-free time of 5–10 minutes and cures at approximately 3 mm per 24 hours at room temperature. Reduces fixture time and speeds up production cycles.

Typical Applications

Cabinet Installation– Secures countertop support battens in place immediately after application, eliminating the need for clamping or bracing.

Kitchen & Bathroom Fittings– Bonds towel bar brackets, toilet trim strips, and other fixtures in high-humidity areas, with mold resistance that helps delay surface discoloration.

Furniture Assembly– Provides elastic bonding between cabinet back panels and frames, absorbing stress from thermal expansion and contraction of wood-based materials.

Outdoor Signage– Adheres sign lettering and graphics to exterior walls, with weatherproof performance that holds up under sun and rain.

Compatible Substrates Bonds effectively to most common materials, including metals, wood, PVC, and a broad range of plastics.

Limitations – Not Recommended For

Load-bearing structural components (e.g., curtain wall frames, load-supporting brackets)

Permanent immersion in water (e.g., swimming pools, aquariums, water-pooling floor joints)

Expansion joints or metal curtain wall gaps subject to high-movement cycles

A Note on Strength vs. Elasticity

Bond strength and elasticity address different performance requirements. XMCA47 prioritizes adhesion strength while still offering moderate flexibility—adequate for conventional joint movement. For applications involving frequent or large-amplitude movement, a low-modulus sealant is recommended.

Technical Parameters – A Balanced Approach
While some competing products advertise elongation at break of 300% or even 400%, XMCA47 is designed with a nominal elongation of approximately 120% and a consistent shear strength of 2.8 MPa.

This difference reflects a deliberate design choice. For decorative bonding, profile fixing, and similar routine uses, 120% elongation comfortably accommodates typical joint movement, while 2.8 MPa shear strength ensures reliable adhesion—with substrate failure generally occurring before cohesive failure of the adhesive itself.

Prototype formulations with higher elongation were evaluated during development, but the final specification prioritizes batch-to-batch consistency and overall performance stability. For contractors and production teams, predictable, uniform product behavior is often more valuable than chasing a single peak specification.

Support Services

Free Samples– Available upon request for hands-on evaluation of workability and curing behavior prior to bulk ordering.

Substrate Compatibility Testing– For non-standard materials (e.g., specialty plastics, coated surfaces, etc.), we offer small-sample adhesion testing at no extra charge, along with basic application recommendations.

Direct Technical Support– In case of any issues during application, our technical team is accessible directly—no call-center routing—to ensure prompt resolution.

For substrate verification or sample requests, please contact us to arrange shipment and testing.
